Nomenclature

This document provides a overview of terminology used within Atlas:

Cloud Connect

Cloud Conect is a JSON over MQTT messaging and control protocol allowing Nodes and Services within Atlas to communicate, regardless of their physical network.

Experience Fabric

Experience Fabric is an always on VPN for Nodes and Cloud services that creates a private overlay network enabling on-premesis firewalled Nodes to be reachable via the Experience Manager. Experience Fabric use cases include VPN-less RDP/VNC, and distributed computing such as media-processing, AI embeddings and inference.

Experience Manager

The Experience Manager is a back-end API service and user facing application powering the Atlas ecosystem of products and services.

Liminal

Liminal is a show control and power scheduling application. It resides on-premesis on the AV subnet, interacting with AV devices via raw TCP, UDP or RESTful interfaces.

Node

An IP connected device, most often an a Computer/PC connected to/or controllable by the Atlas Experience Manager. Nodes will most often run the Atlas Experience Agent.
